http://www.essexwt.org.uk/Geology/intro.htm Essex Wildlife Trust's, Geology of Essex pages; good background information, covers the major sites and plenty of other references to Societies, Clubs and websites of interest, specific (mostly) to Essex. The site is maintained by ESSEX RIGS so it's the 'BIZ', do I have to say more? http://www.paleopages.com Excellent gateway for Palaeontologists and anyone else interested. http://www.ukfossils.info A site concentrating on British Fossils and Locations. Lots of pictures and plenty of links. Make yourself a cup of tea and get some biscuits before you put your feet up and coast along the seaside locations. (This site has developed a lot since I looked. 10/4/03) http://www.my-minerals.com A site on Agates from Germany by Jörg Scherber, the catalogue is slow in loading and the pictures not as sharp as they could be, which is a shame. But an "eye opener" about another country's agates! (added 16/03/03) http://www.mlms.org.uk The Medway Fossil & Mineral Society. It was originally "The Medway Lapidary and Mineral Society." Just a change in name to cater for changing times and interests." (Known and liked them for years!) http://www.gaultammonite.co.uk This wonderful site covers the fossils of the Gault Clay & Folkestone Beds of Kent. Want to know what to look for when you go to Folkestone? Check this out! http://www.sheppeyfossils.com The title is self explanatory, subject covers the fossils of the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. (Sheppey, is a pilgrimage for most of us, we like it, and this website does it justice). http://hometown.aol.co.uk/matheauraven/myhomepage/collection.html Mostly about in and around Peterborough, fossil wise! Plenty of pictures. (added 8/01/04). http://www.directoryscience.com Contains loads of links to the world of science websites, an extensive coverage of all disciplines. You may find it useful from time to time. (added 8/01/05). http://www.agatesfromargentina.com For those interested in Agates from wherever they come from. Superb photographs of specimens. Has an extensive links page to other websites with leanings towards Agates. (Added 5/09/06) http://www.norfolkminerallapidarysociety.com It's all in the title. Want to know more? Click on the link. (Added 15/11/06) http://www.ukonline.co.uk/slm.s2/index.htm The Sidcup Lapidary and Mineral Society. Nice to see some clubs still have a very active interest in lapidary. Take a look. (Added 3/05/07) http://www.scottishagates.webeden.co.uk The website of a Scottish agate collector based in Montrose. http://www.agatas-argentinas.com.ar Interested in Agates? Take a look. Photographic display of collections from each agate bearing region of Argentina. http://www.norgeo.co.uk The website of Northern Geological Supplies Ltd. One stop shopping for the amateur geologist.
