My guess is, if you are reading this then you already know and are a complete Anorak. If you are a novice then these references will be hard to comprehend. Don't be put off, you just have to understand that certain words have very specific scientific meaning. Get a 'Dictionary of Geology' (Penguin Books) by your side and read with understanding. Oh yes, and get out more! Geology is a very hands on subject. (RC).
