Field Trip - Crag Sites in Suffolk, 1 August 2004

A selection of photographs from this year's trip. No reports were sent in for inclusion.

(These pictures have been included just for the record, any notes along with these, other than those in italics, were as recorded on the back of each photograph.)

Richmond Farm near Orford, Suffolk. Coralline Crag.

(One can just imagine what one is saying to the other; "Urrh - that looks nasty, smelly too, glad I never trod in it!")

Broom Pit near Orford, Coralline Crag Site.

Bob Markham, the leader of this trip, is explaining the origins of the Coralline Crag.

Even the fossil hunters in our group got a chance to have a close look.

Gedgrave Hall near Orford, looking for bivalves.

Moles are said to have poor eyesight. I hope what these are doing is safe?

Moles are a pest anyway!

All these sites seem to have a common theme besides being Coralline Crag. They are on or around the 10m contours in that area. Looks like those members who went on the trip had an interesting and varied field trip, unfortunately no reports ever reached me otherwise they would have been included. RC
