Directions to Hopwa House, Inskip Drive, Hornchurch, Essex
(Meeting place of the Essex Rock & Mineral Society)

Public Transport: The District Line of the London Underground stops at Upminster Bridge station. If you leave the station turning to the left, you will be walking uphill to traffic lights on the crossroads of Wingletye Lane & Upminster Road. Continue straight on from here, St Andrews Church is easily seen at the top of the hill. Just after you pass the church (on your left) Inskip Drive is to the right. Hopwa House is at the far end of Inskip Drive (about 100 yards), directly in front of you. Total walking time is about 10 minutes.

Private Transport: From M25: Leave the Motorway at J.29, turning on to the A127 toward London. You will pass 2 service stations on you left, of which the second is a Heron station. Immediately beyond this, turn left into the slip road; this is Wingletye Lane. Go down this road to its end, there is a set of traffic lights at which you turn right. You are now in Upminster Road, facing uphill with a large church prominent at the top of the hill. As you pass this church, turn right into Inskip Drive. The meeting hall is facing you at the end of the road. There should be no problem parking in the vicinity. From A12 (ie coming from London): At Gallows Corner turn right onto the A127, towards Southend; or join the flyover approaching the roundabout, which takes you onto the correct road. At the first set of traffic lights turn right (to Hornchurch) onto Ardleigh Green Road. Follow this road into Hornchurch town centre, then leave town on the Upminster Road. Inskip Drive is first on the left after leaving the shops, just before the church. The meeting hall is facing you at the end of the road. There should be no problem parking in the vicinity.
